As at 31 January 2015, Significant Investor Visa (SIV) statistics recorded a total of 651 primary visas granted with Expressions of Interest (EOI) submitted through SkillSelect at 2075.
Applicants for SIV from China forms the largest number, at 90.6% with 89.1% visas granted followed by Hong Kong at 2.9% of total visa applications and 3.5% visas granted.
A total of AUD$3.255 billion has been invested in Complying investments with a total of AUD$2.845 billion proposed to be invested in Complying investments.
The SIV programme launched on 24 November 2012, is a pathway to provide significant migrant investment into Australia under the Business Innovation and Investment visa programme.
