Invitations issued on 23 October 2015
|Skilled – Independent (subclass 189)||1000|
|Skilled – Regional Provisional (subclass 489)||20|
Due to the continuing high numbers of EOIs received for occupations listed below, invitations will be issued on a pro-rata basis in each monthly invitation round over the 2015-16 programme year, which is subject to change throughout the year.
If all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then there will be no invitations issued for subclass 489 visas in these occupations:
- ICT Business and Systems Analysts
- Software and Applications Programmers.
SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) visas and then remaining to Skilled – Regional (subclass 489) (Provisional – Family Sponsored) visas.
SkillSelect is the Australian Government’s new online system which allows skilled workers who are interested to move to Australia and be considered for a skilled Australian visa and in order to begin the application process, skilled workers are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect.
