New South Wales Government Streamlines Significant Investor Visa requirements effective 1 September 2014

The New South Wales (NSW) Government announced a change to its Significant Investor Visa (SIV) requirements to make it easier for applicants to seek NSW nomination and invest in a broader range of investments.

Effective 1 September 2014, overseas investors are no longer required to hold $1.5 million of their $5 million investment in NSW Waratah Bonds but, will still be required to invest the full $5 million in approved complying investments.

Removal of the requirement for investment in NSW Waratah bonds was announced by the Deputy Premier of New South Wales and Minister for Trade & Investment, the Hon Andrew Stoner, on 26 August 2014. A copy of the announcement is here.
