New Visa Charges for 1 July 2013

Perdaman Global Services would like to advise our clients that new visa pricing arrangements will be introduced by the Department of immigration & Citizenship on 1 July 2013. The main impact on our corporate clients will be that visa application charges will change from a single charge at the time of application to a charge per applicant in an individual or combined application.

From 1 July 2013, you might be required to pay the following charges when you lodge your visa application:

  • Base application charge – this charge is the amount a main visa applicant will have to pay for their visa application.
  • Additional applicant charge – this charge will be paid by each additional applicant included in or added to a combined visa application (unless an exemption applies). The amount varies according to the age of the applicant and the visa subclass. This charge is added to the base application charge; the main applicant does not pay the additional applicant charge.
  • Non-internet application charge – a charge of $80 for selected visas will apply when the option to lodge and pay for the application online exists but the applicant chooses to lodge a visa application by paper form.
  • Subsequent temporary application charge – is a charge that you might need to pay when you lodge a visa application for certain temporary visas when you are in Australia. The charge is $700 per applicant in addition to any other applicable visa fees and charges. For example – this fee will apply when an applicant makes an application in Australia for a Subclass 457 visa whilst holding a Working Holiday Visa or Visitor Visa

Perdaman Global Services have identified that the key changes affecting our clients will be as follows:

As an example – for a Subclass 457 visa for a family of four (main applicant, spouse and 2 children) where previously the DIAC fees were only $455 (including dependents), will be increased to $2250.

For employer sponsored permanent residency the DIAC fees have not been increased for a main applicant, but to include immediate family (eg spouse/partner/dependent children) will attract additional fees as per table above.

Additional fees will still apply to applicants who do not have functional English.

Please note that Perdaman Global Services have not increased its professional fees.
